Italian Range
Nero D'avola
This wine comes to us from a flat area of Marsala in Sicily, a warm continental area with growing conditions perfect for this grape, from a native Sicilian vine, sometimes also called Calabrese. After harvest, the grapes are destemmed and vinified at a controlled temperature before going to malolactic fermentation and racking. The wine is finished with ageing over the lees, in addition to spending a short time in French oak.
Tasting Notes
Ruby red with some purple hues, this wine is fruit-forward with wild berries, blackcurrant and blueberry jam and touches of resinous notes like eucalyptus and fresh cedar and on the nose it also has floral notes such as violets and raspberries. On the palate, it is well-rounded, rich and sweet. It has gentle and well-integrated tannins.
