That’s why we’ve decided to create a cheat sheet of food and wine pairings you really can’t go wrong with. We will be working our way through our ranges, up next…
“Chianti D.O.C.G.”
The Takeaway: Pizza
The acidity in the tomato based pizza will pair perfectly with our rich and full Chianti. We suggest keeping it simple with a margerita pizza (perhaps adding a few slices of salami if you eat meat) to compliment the flavours of the wine without overwhelming it.
The homemade dish: Tomato pasta
I know, another tomato based dish! But, tomato really is the key to having a fantastic chianti food pairing. Acidic food always pairs well with wine that has a touch of acidity, it might sound strange but the combination of the both brings together a rich and full pairing. Try a slightly creamy tomato pasta that’s well seasoned with salt, pepper and fresh herbs.
The light dinner: Mozzarella salad
You guessed it – A light mozzarella salad with big slices of juicy tomato make for the perfect light dinner to accompany you’re a glass of Chianti.
Go light on the seasoning with a simple salad dressing of olive oil, salt and pepper, and maybe a tiny bit of mustard.
