Wine & Food #1: Prosecco D.O.C
When having a glass of wine with your dinner, you want to make sure it’s the best pairing possible to get to achieve an optimal flavour combination. A bad food and wine pairing can risk leaving a bitter taste in your mouth.
That’s why we’ve decided to create a cheat sheet of food and wine pairings you really can’t go wrong with. We will be working our way through our ranges, but first up…
“Prosecco D.O.C.”
The Takeaway: Chinese food
Try and lean towards the noodle and rice dishes rather than anything with a sweet and sour sauce. You want to stick to those umami flavours. We suggest going for a mushroom or meat-based dish with a savoury sauce. You could also try pairing your prosecco with sushi – you will even get away with a hint of spice!
The homemade dish: Seafood pasta
The fresh crispiness and acidity of our prosecco will go perfectly with a seafood pasta. It doesn’t have to be anything complicated and here’s a recipe for inspiration!
Don’t eat fish? Swap it for broccoli or asparagus.
Try to stay away from any heavy sauces and let the fish (or veggies) do the talking.
The light dinner: Chicken Caesar Salad
A chicken caesar salad is perfect for those times in which you want a light meal to go with your bottle. This crisp and slightly creamer salad will make a great accompaniment for a glass of bubbly. Go light on the sauce and the acidity in our prosecco is sure to cut through those buttery flavours.
Most salads will go well with our prosecco, but try to stick to salty or creamy combinations.
