Add a Little Sparkle with an At Home Date Night
With date night being confined to our homes, it’s time to get creative! Here are our 6 top tips on how to bring the atmosphere of your favourite restaurant into your own abode.
“It’s time to get creative!”
Set the Scene
It’s important to feel like you’re doing something special, so give your dining room or kitchen a restaurant name, and to ensure that you’re gazing into each other’s eyes and not reaching for the remote, turn off the Television. There’s nothing less romantic than the sounds of Coronation Street in the background, so follow suit of your favorite restaurant and hit play on a date night playlist. Create a romantic atmosphere by dimming the lights and lighting candles, draft a stylish menu for your other half to read and add a reserved sign to the table.
Dress to Impress
Date night is a great excuse to get dressed up – even if it is indoors. Take this time to make a real effort and get glammed up for each other. Treat yourself to a spot of pampering, put on your favourite outfit and treat the night like you’re about to hit the town. It’s the ideal opportunity to remind your partner that they’re worth the effort.
The Menu
Food can be key to creating a magical evening that you’ll never forget, so why not go all out on this occasion and create a three-course meal. Tantalise the taste buds and don’t forget dessert! Something as simple as a chocolate mousse can elevate the dining experience. If whipping up a three-course meal seems daunting, most local takeaways are still on hand to help. Just make sure to take it all out of the containers, throw them away and dish it up nicely, it’s all about the presentation.
Snap a ‘date night’ selfie
So you’re all dressed up and you’re about to tuck into a delicious meal… Why not snap a selfie? You could even geo-tag your restaurant name on Instagram or Facebook, it may inspire others to try an at-home date night themselves!
After Dinner Entertainment
The romance doesn’t have to end after dinner. Why not pick out your favorite film, snuggle up on the sofa with a glass of bubbly and enjoy some quality time together. Alternatively, why not dust off the playing cards or bring out your favorite board games? You could even put a background image on the TV, such as a cosy fireplace or seaside setting.
Wine and Dine
It wouldn’t be a romantic evening without some fizz! Of course we recommend picking up a bottle of Freixenet cava, prosecco or sparkling rosé to add that final touch.
