The Mía line is the brainchild of Gloria Collell, a young winemaker from Barcelona, who partnered with Freixenet to realize her dream of marrying the diverse grape culture of Spain with the freshness and youthful exuberance of her hometown. Mía Sparkling Moscato is made from the freshly pressed must of Moscato grapes. It is fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures until 5-5.5% alcohol is reached and then a second fermentation takes place in the sealed tanks. At 7% fermentation is stopped by chill the wine before it is filtered and prepared for bottling.
